Christiana sent me a pic of this great bentwood rocking chair over the summer that she picked up at Value Village. I’ve been holding on to the photo since — just awaiting the “after” so I’m happy that I can share the transformation.
Though not confirmed, many people attribute the invention of the rocker to Benjamin Franklin in the 18th century. These bentwood rockers first appeared in 1860. I love the “bones” of this particular one — Christiana has a great eye so I can see why she immediately fell in love with it and saw its potential. A reupholster did the trick — makes me want to grab a magazine and a cup of coffee and just sit for a spell. Well done!
